14 INCHES TELESCOPE - CELESTRON

The 14 inches (356 mm) Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, CGE-1400 - Celestron, has a focal length of 3910 mm. The secondary mirror of the telescope is 4.5 inches (114.3 mm). The highest magnification is 830 times. Its limiting stellar magnitude is 15.3.

The telescope is equipped with STL-11000M Santa Barbara Instrument Group (SBIG) CCD camera with AI-11002M CCD detector. The total number of pixels is 11 000 000, the pixel array is 4008 x 2672 pixels, and the pixel size is 9x9 microns. The physical dimensions of the detector are 36 mm x 24.7 mm. The peak quantum efficiency is 50% in blue light. Standard Bessel filters UBVRI (thickness - 5 mm) are also available.

The department owns a spectrograph, Lhires III, produced by Shelyak Instruments. The spectrograph is equipped with ST-1603 ME (SBIG) CCD camera with 9 micron pixel size and a detector KAF-1603ME with image size of 1530 x 1020 pixels. Full set of gratings is also available (150, 300, 600, 1200 and 2400 lines/mm).
